Today marks 1 year with my beautiful family! I became an instant dad to two beautiful girls, a husband to a gorgeous and talented wife, and a biological dad to the sweetest little thing. Along with that learned a skill that made me marketable for work in an industry where i can have a family life and money... It's been one Hell of a year and I can honestly say it's because of the love of my wife and family. Love you Katie Mihu Adey Paisley and Emery! Happy anniversary babe.

Pappas' birthday!

Last Monday for family night our friend Nate Pappas was in town from Texas just for the Monday/Tuesday (his license was expired so came home to renew it and it was also his birthday).  His parents had a little hang out/cake/ice cream/smore roasting party.  It was fun and he got to finally FINALLY meet my Nate's little half~ Emery.  Adey and Paisley loves Pappas and call him Uncle Pappas (my Nate considers him family and with all they have been through jokingly I have accepted him as member of the fam).

Uncle Pappas meeting his new niece

helping him open presents..this one was wrapped, tan colored tape, and duct tape...lol

and Grandma Pappas pulled Adey's lose tooth so now she is missing her two top front teeth

roasting smore's (Paisley's first one fell off her stick...) they enjoyed the chocolate pieces the most

Gymnastics updates....

Our little girls are getting so skillful at gymnastics.  They love it and it makes me happy!

On Monday's Adey is in an advanced beginners and then on Wednesday's she is in a level 2.  Her teacher Kara let her do the harder class so she can keep working with her.  We love Miss Kara and how hard she pushes Adey and is always smiling and so encouraging.  Adey is working on getting over her fear of the balance beam and doing back handsprings and just building her strength.  She can do a flip in the pit and is excelling on the bars.

Paisley is finally in a preschool class (no more mommy and me class) and her teacher is Ms. Heather (but for the summer she has a substitute while she spends time her son before he leaves for his mission).  We love Ms. Heather too and how patient she is with the little kids and is so positive and really shows she cares to help these ones.  Paisley listens really well to her.  (in this picture she is with Miss Maddie).  Paisley is working on strength, listening, not being afraid.  She swings on the bars, goes across them, can do rolls, works on going backwards over the "back walk over" mats, her bridge is getting stronger and so is her hand stands.  She gets so excited when its time for gymnastics and sometimes argues with her sister about who is going which day even though they both go on Monday's at the same time and Adey goes an extra day.

Way to go girls and all your hard work!  So proud of you!

here is a little video on the beam...look at her skills she is developing!

Saturday play day

Last Saturday we finally got to experience what it was like for Nate to have a normal Monday through Friday job.  Since he had Saturday off we got up in the morning had breakfast, I headed to the temple (leaving the kids with Nate...not sure what they did while I was gone but when I got home, well I met them at Tina and Robert's, but they all were alive and happy so they survived a little time without me and it was nice to get away) with my best friend of 10 years, Jessica.  I love this girl.  We always have so much fun when we are together whether it is a craft night, movie night, dinner date, shopping trip, temple session...you name it, we have fun!

.

So after the temple I met Nate and the girls.  We headed out and got chick-fil-a and ate it at home since we all were so hungry.  Then we jumped into our swimsuits and headed on over to 7 peaks water park (Nate's first time).  We were glad he came cause with an extra pair of hands the girls were able to do other things then just the 2.5 inch kid pool.  We played in the lazy river, kid pool, toddler pool which has tons of water spraying and a tire tube to swing on and a small slide, and enjoyed the wave pool.  It was a fun afternoon with the family and so excited that we will have many more with Nate's new work schedule!

My projects lately...

Two pages for a quiet book for church: a barn and the ocean.  I just need to make the puppets for it.  I had fun adding sand on the beach and little swirls in the mud by the barn

This was pretty easy and used little to no fabric and I plan to make tons more!  Good way to use up those extra scraps.  It could be either a little girls hair bow and cute little boys bow tie!

I made these pants and head band for my little beauty who is modeling it below.  So addicting!  It only took about an hour to make but that was with a few mistakes so I am sure next time I could make it in under 30 minutes.  Now I can save on my budget and not spend an arm and a leg on these cute head bands and leggings and I can make matching sets.

such a little cutie!

uh oh...I think I need to make a decorating budget and a craft/hobby budget...I love being creative and trying new things (usually when they turn out right)

Pioneer day 2015

This year for pioneer day (Utah holiday), July 24, 2015Nate had to work in the morning and got off a little early than he normally does on Friday's (Monday through Thursday he gets off at 5 and normally on Fridays he gets off at 4 but this day he got off at 3 and because he worked this Utah holiday he was gifted a floating holiday to use when he wants...we feel so blessed with this amazing job that allows him to have a family life and be with us more.  We loved having him around).  While he was at work, the girls and I went out to a lunch date to Cafe Rio (num num...).

When he got home, he fired up the grill and we had some friends over: Britnee/Eric/kids, Levi, Brianna/Mitch/baby girl.  It was a great night of yummy food, celebrating pioneer day with sparklers/glow sticks/poppers/our neighbors fireworks, also celebrating Eric and Mitch's birthdays (we even sang to them and had them blow out a pink candle each), kids playing in the pool and "house" (using the words honey and dear and taking care of the babies...it was so cute!), Nate serenaded us on his guitar, Levi entertained us with his spoon trick, and laughter.  We can't wait to have them all over again!
