The time has come...

The time has come for me to say good bye to my 20's and hello to my 30's (for me it is still hard for me wrap around it that I am officially 30).  It was a great weekend and started on Friday (even though my actual birthday was on Sunday)

Nate, Me, Tina (sister in law), Robert (Nate's brother), Kimberly (Nate's sister), and Stephen (brother in law) (and nursing babies') all went all to eat at Texas Roadhouse and it was so fun and memorable!  I sure love these people and all that they mean to me (I married into an amazing family and am so blessed to have these ones living so close)

Then on Saturday Nate made me a yummy breakfast and we just took it easy (I was able to get some me time through out the day which was very relaxing as well as time spent with my amazing husband and our wonderful little girls).

Then on Sunday (my actual birthday) we went to church (even though I wasn't in the mood but glad we went because it made me feel special so many telling me happy birthday and lessons were just what I needed to hear lately...it was a great place to be!)  Then we came home and Nate made us lunch and we relaxed and I even got to take a nap (rare moment...) all while Nate had a little surprise party planned for me filled with family and friends and I am so grateful for all those that came to celebrate with us (I wish I would have gotten pictures...even just one)!  And I loved all the cards and wonderful gifts I was given for my birthday this year.  I even loved how excited the girls were for my birthday...my sweet family means everything to me that no gift could ever top!  Nate even baked a cake for the party (and brownies for me since I don't really like cake) and we had yummy ice cream!  Then that night was the blood moon but this was the best picture I could get...I loved how lit the whole sky was.  Just beautiful and one memorable moment since I wasn't alive for the last one (such a rare occurrence)

Thanks to those that sent messages and texts and phone calls and the gifts...it was a great birthday and here is the first year in my 30's.  Its gonna be great!

BYU vs. BSU

So Nate's favorite football team is BSU (Boise State University) and for the past 3 football seasons (since I have known him) we have had a little get together/party to watch the game with good company and hope BSU wins...well this year it was a good close game but BYU beat BSU by a lucky pass toward the end of the game.  Its ok boys...maybe next year!  Thanks again to everyone that came (It meant a lot to Nate and it didn't matter whose team you were rooting for)...until next year!

Beautiful evening...

Earlier this week the weather was perfect, sunny, breezy, and cooler in the evening and we saw our neighbors outside having a picnic for dinner.  We were already having a summery type meal so we thought aw why not copy them.  The girls laid out their blankets and we pulled out Emery's seat and our out door chairs and enjoyed the nice evening outside.  I love the fall time and I love being outside for it...which we better enjoy before the winter hits (with Utah we never know how much snow we will get and sometimes its just cold with no snow at all but this year I sure am hoping for some)

Labor Day Monday...

So Nate had a paid holiday off- Labor Day- and it was nice to enjoy it together as a family.  We decided to make a picnic lunch, invite his sister Kimberly and her family, and head up to Antelope Island State Park in Syracuse ( http://utah.com/antelope-island-state-park ).  It is just a little over an hour drive and the park entrance fee is only $10 a car which isn't bad since its a state park and you get to see Buffalo and do a little hiking and can play in the sand and splash in the Great Salt.  It's well worth it!

Once we got to the beach like place to have a picnic we all unloaded and gobbled up our food, the kids got to play in the sand, and just before we were going to head the little ways walk to put our feet in the Great Salt Lake Paisley ended up getting a migraine which sent Nate (who took Emery) with him to the store to pick up ibuprofen and caffeine, me hanging out while holding Paisley in the shaded pavillion area (Kimberly, Clara, Avery, and baby Sammy) up in the sandy area, while Stephen took Adey and Charlie to the water.

I managed to get a few photos once Nate got back (I even played around with my tripod).  Also Kimberly and her family needed to head out shortly after that too but we stayed so Paisley could feel better not being moved all around (we put her in the stroller to sleep).  Nate taught Adey to fly a kite and we just hung out enjoying the peacefulness.  It was relaxing and fun but sure wish Paisley could have joined us...
