October 2016

This year we a busy yet calm and fun month of October as a family.  With Nate being a student this time this year we have had to be careful with everything we do amongst our budget.

So to start off me and the littles took our doggy on a walk and played in the leaves and of course made some time to play at one of our favorite parks that is so close to our house.  We even got a few fun videos:

We had lots of nights filled with tickles and silliness:

Pumpkin pancakes and drank orange juice out of our pumpkin cups:

We played at our favorite pumpkin patch in Springville called Jakers.  They have a petting zoo and a corn pit and kids mazes and corn mazes and haunted houses and barrels of hay to climb and tractor ride and it is so much fun (minus the little bit of a drive from our current house here in American Fork)

Had yummy and greasy pizza at this little pizza shack in downtown Provo with Daddy for lunch:

We canned our first ever home made applesauce which about 6 apples made 1 jar and we made 4 jars with a little left over to enjoy!  It did not disappoint and our kid and even me love it even more than store bought applesauce:

We had our ward trunk or treat.  Adey was Princess Daisy, Paisley was Princess Peach, Emery was toadette (but wouldn't wear the hat), Nate was Luigi and I was Mario.  We had yummy chili and passed out candy near our trunk (I wanted to sit by my friends) while Nate took the girls around to the other trunks:

Paisley's preschool had another field trip this month but this time to Cornbelly's in Lehi which is probably the only other time I will go (we went another time with friends and it was unbelievable over crowded and hard to do much and really have a good time).  We had a fun time but wish Nate and Adey could have came with us:

Then Adey's second grade class put on a little play that we all even Nate were able to attend.  She was little Red Riding Hood:

Adey was also friend of the week so we made her poster of all her favorite things:

Then we went back to Cornbelly's with some friends and did get to see 500 pounds of pumpkin drop and a tractor smash other pumpkins and watch a little play and spend some time in the corn pit:

We spent a lot of the month playing dress up so much and Emery also painted herself with lots of yogurt one morning before church:

Adey was Dorothy for her school dress up day/assembly (I wasn't able to attend this year though)

And on Halloween we were so busy that I didn't get any pictures.  But for a third year in a row we went up to Nate's brothers Robert's house to trick or treat with their kids.

And because I wanted pictures of my kids in their costumes so I had them dress up again to get pictures.  Paisley was a butterfly, Emery was a bumble bee and Adey was Mel from descendants which is one of her favorite movies:

Nebraska Birthday Trip

We My parents have been asking for a while what it is I want for my birthday which was in September. But let's face it the older we get the harder it is for me at least to decide what it is I really want. I have my hubby and my kids and my family and that's perfect for me. I knew a lot of my moms family was flying in and my brother was driving up so I decided a plane ticket to see my family who live in Nebraska is just a what I wanted (Emery got to come with me because she flies for free). We had a great time visiting, shopping, eating yummy food at home and out, visiting the zoo, seeing my moms store for the last time since it is now closed, playing games, sewing, laughing and having a great time! I love my family so much and I wish we didn't all live so far away! I will gladly take any trip I can to spend time with them:

Apple Orchard

This year we have enrolled Paisley into preschool and to say she is loving it is such an understatement!  She goes MWF from 12-2:30...she never wants me to walk her (she always asks mom can you just drop me off?).  Such a big girl growing up faster than this mom wants to acknowledge!  So far she has learned primary and secondary colors, days of the week, the seasons and this week they are on letter Dd.  Her teachers (she has 2) helps them learn the sounds and upper and lower case.  Paisley is picking up quickly even though she already knew most of them thanks to the activities we do at home and big sis and start fall and other educational shows we love to watch!

But with it being fall, one of her teaches families owns an apple orchard so last Thursday we got to go for free and learn how apples are picked and processed and got to eat a yummy apple and walk around and play on the tractor.  It was fun and Paisley had a good time (Emery did too...):
