Easter 2014

I love hiding eggs the night before for the girls.  We have a tradition where we put the kid's baskets with empty eggs by the TV stand and the big white fluffy bunny comes while we are sleeping to fill the eggs and hide them and then fill our Easter baskets (sometimes those get hidden too...not this year though).  Also we like to put out some carrots and ranch in case he gets a little hungry and needs a snack (sadly we forgot to do this this year...always next year)

Of course the girls went to bed later than normal and even though their poor tired mama didn't sleep well they ignore that and wake up earlier than normal...(maybe when holidays come around they will learn to
sleep in).

Adey's favorite was her scooter/helmet and Paisley's favorite was her bubbles...overall the bunny did well!

Next was the egg hunt which the girls did pretty well...This was Paisley's first.  With a little coaching she found some eggs and the girls shared the treats from the eggs (sometimes i do non-candy, sometimes i do money...this year i just did chocolate...next year I will try something different).

While we waited for Nate to come we talked with Grampy (my dad) who was visiting my Nana (his mom).  Then we skyped with Nonni (my mom who was alone since my dad was with his mom).  Once he got here we went on our first of two walks today enjoying the beautiful springy Easter weather and so Adey could try out her scooter.  The girls picked up flowers along the way

When we got home the girls ate some lunch and Paisley was supposed to take a nap but decided to play in her crib instead and Adey had some quiet time.  Once I decided to finally get Paisley up we colored some Easter eggs while we waited for dinner to finish:

We had a nice dinner once it was ready (ham, salad, okra, home made wheat bread, corn on the cob, watermelon, and sparkling cider...oh so yummy...perfect spring type meal).  Then we went on another walk..this time a little shorter and then we played at the park and in the grass (i got asked if I was a cheerleader because i was doing cartwheels with Adey...I hope I continue to have great health and look this young as I continue to age):

When we got home we rolled out our cookies and use the cookie cutters to make some spring cookies of flowers, eggs, bunnies, and butterflies (my mom got us this cute cookie cutters i think last year on clearance after the holiday):

Then I had the girls take a bath but Adey wanted to help make the frosting so it was a quick to the point bath and they both played for a few then got out and got ready for bed.  Then we made the icing and iced our cookies:

Overall it was a fun filled day of family time while making memories!  These are the best days of our lives!

Adey ER visit

So a few weeks ago Adey was running with a ball and tripped over the ball and hit the back of her head on the concrete.  It was quite traumatizing for my little 4 year old but she was so brave.  She kept getting sleepy and not acting like her self so I called her doctors office and spoke with the nurse who we went through basic symptoms and afterwards told me I should take her up to Primary Children's Hospital to be examined.  So I took her up and when I was checking her in they noticed her nose was swelling and draining (I was so panicked because they mentioned  she could be leaking spinal fluid so they took us back immediately for some blood work and x-rays).  She didn't cry at all and even had to wear this uncomfortable neck brace.  She got a yummy slushy when they ruled out she wasn't leaking fluid...boils down to it she just had a concussion and that she should take it easy for a few days.  Much easier said then done to tell a 4 yr old to be calm and watch movies and no jumping, bike riding, being super active...YEA RIGHT!  just glad she was alright and nothing to major.

bubbles are our best friend....

We have this awesome bubble machine that the girls just love playing with...and i have glycerin and soap to make endless bubbles...it is hours of fun which has been helpful on these rainy days!  just look at the smiles on their faces...who wouldn't want to join in!

Our mini VaCaY

So we decided to go to Nebraska March 8...yes we (meaning Nate) drove us, the girls, the whole 14 hours...we stopped in Wyoming on the way over.  We spent about 5 days with my parents in Nebraska and headed down to Kansas for 3 days to hang with Nate's brother Jeremy and his sweet family along with his brother David and some of his beautiful family who came over from Oklahoma.  Then we trucked on home but stopped in Denver.  Telling you that the girls were beyond perfect is QUITE an understatement.

On our second day of travels we stopped to say Hi to one of Nate's friends in Nebraska (before we got to my parents house)...the girls had fun i would say...

On our third day of our trip we, meaning Nate/Me/Adey (Paisley wasn't old enough so mom stayed with her) went with my dad to see this amazing Chinese acrobat show.  Adey loved it...we all agree they could have done without the few Oprah songs but the dancing was beyond words can describe.  We had a great time and brought my mom home ice cream afterwards.  Thanks dad for the great show!

We visited the zoo...which is one of my favorites and glad we got to take Nate for his first time to this zoo

I just love otters and Nate got the girls these cute (one pink and one purple) stuffed otters...the girls loved them!

just missing adey and then we have all the girls!  She was off having fun with grampy so didn't want take her away

Next on our trip to Kansas...Paisley loved playing on the piano and I enjoyed hearing the many talents of others who played.  Adey would even ask me how to write words so she could compose her own music.  It was really cute!

And we walked over to the park for some fresh air...

Andy they played around in the dirt...we enjoyed the daylight staying with us much longer!
