Temple square

Every year we go to temple square around the biopsy season to see the nativity on the reflecting pool and all the lights. It really is so musical and beautiful.  I love this reminder for the season...the birth of our Savior and what a miraculous gift that is.  It reminds me to remember the year and reflect on how blessed I am.  This year during our trip,  we decided with our oldest two getting older it was time to work on some traditions and we decided to start a new one.  So before hand we grabbed a case of water and some granola bars and headed up to Salt Lake. We parked, got our name on the waiting list to see santa, grabbed some dinner and went to the bathroom. Then as we were headed to see the lights and the temple, we passed out granola bars and water to the homeless on the streets that we passed.  It was such a humbling experience to teach our girls the simple things to be grateful for and it brought tears to my eyes watching them serve and wish them a Merry CHRISTmas for the reason for this season is love and family and the birth of Jesus Christ. We have some awesome family goals for this next year which one is teaching our children more about being grateful for the simple things in life and serving our neighbors and friends.  After passing out these simple goodies we went and walked aims temple square some then visited Santa and got funnel cakes after and headed home because at this time it had become quite late.  I love my family so much and enjoyed this evening out with them masking memories.
