"I am speechless.... we have been sitting on pins and needles for several months now waiting to see if we would stay at Odyssey Charter School or if we would get into Lakeview Academy which is right by our house. We watched the waitlist numbers go up and down and we would get so excited and then sad. We sat at first spot a few different times and then got bumped due to sibling preference. Well this morning I was checking my email and just happened to not only get one acceptance spot but BOTH OF OUR GIRLS were accepted to Lakeview Academy. I may have squealed....While we are so sad to leave such a good charter school that we have been at now for 5 years and great teachers and great friends and both girls really grew and excelled academically, we are so excited for this new chapter. The new charter school does plays, Adey gets to go to 5th grade camp, better school lunch, they have a space simulator, Paisley gets to do an opera this year, early out day is on Friday at 1230, I am pretty sure no more monthly book reports, and so much more to look forward to. Mom is excited for the commute to go from 20 minutes each way to 3 minutes each way! Nate can still take them in the mornings for me except they do start at 755 in the morning now instead of 830. But in all this will be such a fun, new adventure for our family, a prayer answered, a fresh start, and just in time for school to start in a week."
Back to school night:
Also here are my fb posts for the first day of school:
"2nd grade at Lakeview Academy...this girl was mixed emotions about leaving her old charter school. She is gonna miss her teachers, her friends, and what she knew as comfortable and normal. I know she will adjust and will love her new school just as much as her old. This girl is so smart and has a love for reading. She has a kind, tender heart and will make some new friends that just love her! She is excited to not be in the car as long, early out day is on fridays, that she gets to go on more field trips than just one in year, put together a second grade opera, and no more monthly book reports. Happy first day of 2nd grade Paisley goose and heres to new adventures at a new school."
"5th grade at Lakeview Academy here we come....this girl was mostly so excited to change charter schools this year so she can experience some new things like be a part of plays, 5th grade camp, early out day is on Fridays, and no more monthly book reports and better, hot school lunches. The thing she is nervous about is making new friends and will miss the most is her really good group of girls that always had each others backs. She is a good listener, goofy, and has a loving, considerate heart. I know she will adjust and will excel academically like she has before and will make lots of new friendsl. She loves math and music. Heres to new adventures at a new school. Happy first day of 5th grade Adey bug!"
