Emery's 5th Birthday Tribute

This year was not a normal birthday for this girl. With the coronavirus (covid 19) and the stay home and social distancing...we couldn't have anyone over to celebrate. But we did have so many friends come write her messages on our driveway and a few brought her little presents and treats and someone heart attacked our door for her. It was very touching and brought tears to my eyes of how many people cared about my little girl and her big 5th birthday that she couldn't celebrate with anyone but they were there to supporther and brighten her day... i was even able yo get the city to bring the Easter bunny over on her birthday (since the hunt this year was cancelled...) and he brought her 100 filled eggs. It was so sweet! I may have spoiled her a little more than normal...

Oh where to start Emery... you sure are a ray of sunshine on a gloomy day.  You give amazing hugs, always tell us you love us, one of your favorite things is to snuggle, you are very imaginative and determined and strong willed and caring. It's is always in your time which can lead to struggles but they are getting better. You love drawing pictures for people. You always want to be outside or watching a movie or playing toys. You don't love school time unless it's too go to Mrs Cindy's which is your preschool teacher and Mrs Brittany is your aid. I can't believe next year you had off to kindergarten and I am not quite ready to send you. This year you have excelled at stitch therapy and your speech is getting much easier to understand. We love you so much Emery Kate... dont know what we would do without you in our life. You are definitely  special. I love your desire to dress your self and you don't care if it matches...I need to have this confidence. You can write your name and count to 30. You know all your upper and lower case let's and some sight words. You enjoy being read to and must snuggle when this happens. Keep up your hard work and smile Emery. This next year you are gonna excel even more and I love being on this ride with you.

At Emery's doctors appointment which she still had but had to wear a mask because that's the new protocol and no extra kids can come...she was 45 pounds (80%) and inches tall (52%). This girl used to be our tiny girl that hardly even made the chart in these two categories but now she is just average for her height and solid for her weight.
