First day of summer vacation

I love summer vacation and the laziness and fun that comes with it. A little less of a schedule and the more sunshine and time spent outside- it's glorious!  So our first day of summer this is what we did (well after the Memorial Day weekend):

Started out with a yummy, chocolate chip/peanut butter/pancake breakfast picnic:

The girls did their chores and daily homework (hopefully we can keep this up all summer long):

We went to our neighbors house to play in their little pool and park and the beautiful sunshine.  (Adey met a neighbor friend and went and played with her...growing up so fast where she doesn't always want to hang out with good ole' mom):

And paisley proposed to her little friend Matthew:
"Will you marry me Matthew when I am older?" His response..."yep"

Then our neighbor cousins stopped by on the way home from their trip to the park that is by our house and wanted to say 'Hello'

Paisley is always pretending she is pregnant...it better stay pretending until this girl is 25 (just saying)

Then we ended our day with a family wedding.  Nate's cousin Julia got married in the Provo temple and we were invited to her reception that had yummy italian soda drinks and cookies.  It was good to see family that we see all the time and some we don't get to see very often:

Memorial Day fun!

We have been trying to teach our children a little more about what each holiday truly means. The latest holiday being Memorial Day we have talked a lot about the military men and other service men fighting for our freedom and that some die while doing so.  We have not lost anyone in this way but do have many relatives that have served for our country.  So we started a new tradition this year...I signed the whole family up for the run/walk of remembrance 1 miler here in American Fork.  Adey ran some with me while the others walked and I ran ahead.  It was nice to get out as a family and enjoy this beautiful day remembering those in general who have died fighting for our freedom and defending our country!

Then we spent the day doing family things.  First, we went to Eagle Mountain where our property is to see the progress around us and walk through some of the models similar to ours.  Then we surprised the girls and went to our favorite yogurt place to get a cold treat.  We found out they are changing the name of the place from u swirl to froyo.  I make sure to always have a coupon when we go.  We get them from the mailer calendar we get every summer or fall.  Makes it a little bit more affordable.  But it is so yummy! I got the pistachio gelato and it was divine!

Lastly we pulled out our pool and camp chairs and the BBQ and flew out kite and had a few cousins over and the spent the rest of the day outside.  I love my family and making memories with them!

 Happy Memorial Day 2016 🇺🇸

Lunch with Adey at school

On Friday, the 20th...Adey had her last full Friday of first grade. We decided to surprise her with lunch and eat with her and play at recess!! Boy was she surprised and excited. A few weeks ago she earned a voucher for some free chick fill a for an award so that's what we brought her:

This is Chloe one of her best friends!

Then we went outside to play. Adey showed off her gymnastics, Emery got loved on by all her friends and enjoyed trying to chew on the bark, and paisley was adored and pushed on the swing! We had a fun time and next year hope to visit Adey a little more at lunch!

Can't believe this crazy girl, Adey, will be in second grade and Paisley goo will be in preschool next year! They grow and amaze me every day! Love my girls!

The parentals are moving...

So Nate's parents have made the decision to sell their house and move into 3 other homes...(Melanies in Arizona to be built from September through May, and divide the other months in ours in Utah to be built and Jeremys in Idaho with basebment to be finished...).  Some of the kids headed up to Cliffton, Idaho this weekend to deep clean and load up the trailer yet again so they can take some more down to Arizona and stay there for a while.  We went and helped while Adey and Paisley had a weekend at Nana and Papas in Utah.  They love going there and spending time with cousins and their other grandparents.  We took Emery with us.

On our way up we stopped at Firehouse subs since Nate always talks about how yummy it is and I have never been...lets just say I agree it did not disappoint:

Then Emery decided it was time for some driving lessons...

And we had to take a picture to send to our other girls...we always miss them when we are away but we know it would be a lot easier and more for fun for them to have not come on this trip...

Back to the ER again...

On Thursday, May 12, Paisley, Emery and I loaded on up on this beautiful sunny day and headed out for a walk to the park.  We got to the park and were deciding to go to the swings when Paisley said she was thirsty so she got a drink.  Then she started complaining of her head starting to hurt and then within seconds BAM...she tensed and locked up and came down with one of her benign paroxysmal torticollis migraines- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benign_paroxysmal_torticollis

This happened right before 10 in the morning.  By the time Nate came home from work after 4 she was still down (she did have a short break but that didn't last very long).  So I called her pediatrician and her neurologist which then I was instructed with how long she had been down to take her to the Er and have her checked out.  We sent Emery and Adey to other homes (Kimberly and a neighbor friend) since we had no idea how long we would be there for.

Paisley didn't want to ride in the car but we worked out and got her to the ER.  Once we arrived she started throwing up and tensing up again.  Once they got the IV in her hand (4 tries in each hand/arm/foot) they got some blood drawn and fluids going and a strep test and some pain medicine.  Not much change but she did get a nap in.  None of the ER doctors had ever heard of her condition and especially in someone so little.  They had to contact her neurologist who said that sometimes there are just some episodes that are going to take all day just because.  This time happened to be one of those and keeping Paisley hydrated and giving her some benadryl to help her sleep for many hours is what was needed.  So we will continue to learn the different ways of how to help Paisley (these sure are not fun watching her be in so much pain but we will always be there for her).  Once they ended up discharging her after they gave her some benadryl to help relax her muscles and let her sleep it off.

Once we got home around 930, we had to take Ari home (we are so grateful she came to help).  Paisley was still down at this point so we put her in our bed until we were ready for bed and then moved her and she slept until 7 the next morning where she woke up so energetic and ready for the day.  We sure love this little girl and would do anything we can to help her feel better and get over these Migraines which seriously happen about every 3-4 months.  She is becoming more aware when they are coming on (we are pretty sure it is still heat/sun/water induced).  But each time she comes out of it and is better we are grateful to have her back to her normal, happy, sweet, crazy self!
