Church Nativity

We LOVE our church ward and especially the wonderful Nativity that Sister Mott (the bishops wife) puts on with the primary children every year during our Christmas dinner.  It is so magical and helps us all remember the reason for the season!  We look forward to this.  Paisley was a sheep and Adey was an angel (maybe next year emery will get to be an animal in it...last year both Adey and Paisley were Angels...this  year we invited our neighbor's little girl to come too and she got to be an angel also)

Temple square

Every year we go to temple square around the biopsy season to see the nativity on the reflecting pool and all the lights. It really is so musical and beautiful.  I love this reminder for the season...the birth of our Savior and what a miraculous gift that is.  It reminds me to remember the year and reflect on how blessed I am.  This year during our trip,  we decided with our oldest two getting older it was time to work on some traditions and we decided to start a new one.  So before hand we grabbed a case of water and some granola bars and headed up to Salt Lake. We parked, got our name on the waiting list to see santa, grabbed some dinner and went to the bathroom. Then as we were headed to see the lights and the temple, we passed out granola bars and water to the homeless on the streets that we passed.  It was such a humbling experience to teach our girls the simple things to be grateful for and it brought tears to my eyes watching them serve and wish them a Merry CHRISTmas for the reason for this season is love and family and the birth of Jesus Christ. We have some awesome family goals for this next year which one is teaching our children more about being grateful for the simple things in life and serving our neighbors and friends.  After passing out these simple goodies we went and walked aims temple square some then visited Santa and got funnel cakes after and headed home because at this time it had become quite late.  I love my family so much and enjoyed this evening out with them masking memories.

Nonni Visits

So my mom came out for the holiday...Thanksgiving and her birthday.  It was an early gift from my dad to her and we LOVED having her here with us.  It was a low key trip.  We sewed and we shopped and our elf came back for the Christmas season and we cooked and we watched the girls at gymnastics and watched movies including some of the new Gilmore Girls series and my mom got sick for a few days and we met at school for lunch and my mom read with Adey and a few other things.  I promised my mom next time she came out we would do some cool things and not be stuck in doors the whole time as long as it wasn't as cold.  We even got our first real snow of the season with her here.  We had a great two weeks and all are sad to see her go!  We love you Nonni and grateful dad/grampy let you come for so long!  We do wish he could have came along too.  We only got a few pictures but hope to get more next time!

First fun snow day

Being in Utah we have to learn to love the snow.  Well we had our first good snow about 2ish weeks ago and had a lot of fun building snowmen and having a snowball fight and snow angels.
