slumber parties and summertime

After Paisley's party, me and the girls headed down to Mapleton for a sleepover.  Malinda and her kids came down from Idaho for a visit and I asked  for Monday off and we had so much fun with them and Clarissa and her kids, Debbie, David, Julia, Grandma and Grandpa Astle.  We hung out, ate yummy food, went to church, watched movies, jumped on the trampoline, enjoyed the warm sunny weather, went for a couple of walks, fed the goats and mooed with the cows, played at 7 peaks, and did what we do best which is talked/hung out.

I wish I would have taken more pictures but I kept forgetting to take my camera out or I couldn't always find Adey.

I do have a funny story from the weekend.  so the trio (adey, ella, and wesley) had just jumped on the trampoline and were all wet but decided to go play in the sandbox.  about 15 minutes pass and the sandbox got closed because the kids were A. throwing sand and dumping it down their swimsuits and B. decided they had to get this spider out of the sand box so they flooded it with water.  Needless to say that spider is out!  It is always something with these three...mischievous cute little kids

mmmmm.....food

crock pot breakfast: eggs, milk, cheese, potatoes, turkey bacon, and seasoning...delish dipped in ketchup!

fluffy cinnamon rolls...Paisley's first and she sure was in heaven

fresh strawberries are the best

we have a winner

i just thought this was a funny face.  strawberries have always been one of Adey's favorite foods

just melts my heart

wondering what this yummy goodness sissy is feeding her

another winner...seems to like homemade whip cream

one of her favorite parts and everytime i cook with beaters adey always asks for a lick

like mother like daughter...my mom has a pick of me doing this too but i think it is with cake batter or brownie batter

chalkin' up our front patio

i know Adey loves to color with chalk and the other day I realized we haven't colored with chalk yet this summer?  how horrible...such a fond child hood memory.  needless to say we immediately got some chalk and headed just outside our front door and made it colorful!

she talks up such a storm now a days...can say momma and dadda and hi and adey or i think she tries to say stop and no (words I really need to stop using around her but come on...this kid is vocal and likes to get into everything she can yet she can't even crawl yet but always finds ways to be in something she shouldn't)

its like she is thinking....hm what is this stuff?  it makes pretty colors thats for sure

oh..i figured it out...you eat it.  yum?!

working on her letters...like i have said before always gotta be doing something educational although she does have quite the imagination when it comes to playing dollhouse or babies or barbies or legos or pony's or littlest pet shops or whatever it is.  quite the stories!

such a beautiful, contagious smile!

drawing together...i love how Adey has gathered all the chalk for herself....lol!  gotta love Easter Egg shaped chalk...Thanks Mr. Bunny from last year!

thanks Nonni and Grampy

my parents sent the girls these cute hooded towels for part of their birthday and they both just love them.  we use them for baths and the pool so just PERFECT

Paisley with one of her new favorite things....

something she can roll

she has a v tech ball that rolls and sings, big pink ball, green ball, little orange soccer ball, this other fisher price educational/singing ball, one of those vending machine bouncy balls, and a few others.  I wonder if this is a future sign that she will play soccer or volleyball or basketball or softball or who knows what when she grows up...whatever it is i will be there supporting and cheering her along every step of the way as she fulfills his dreams (just like my mom and dad did for me)

p.s. she even got another bright pink with orange spots ball at her birthday party last weekend...

I can...

paint laminate:

before

after

perfect touch to tie all the colors in the room

make a picture holder for $11 to match the girls room:

I love how it turned out!

sew a blanket (definitely not perfect...but this is my first of many):

just need to cut the squares to make it shaggy

i will never use chevron for the back of a blanket (doesn't line up)

Painted some wood and made a cute design (just needs pictures)

and this drumroll please...about to show the girls room put together (for the most part just a few tiny projects but will  have to wait for funds)

any suggestions on how to hang these up...this is the layout but don't know how to get them up on the wall

and here is the "playroom/hall/closet"

I have turned the hall way from the girls room to their bathroom and their good size walk in closet into a playroom...it too has a few more projects and so does their bathroom so stay tuned in future weeks (i love to decorate by the way)

love the storage bins that fit nicely under their clothes and i love this cute shag rug

that toy holder is just full of baby doll clothes and build a bear clothes...thanks Nonni

the toy storage (it has changed some now but you get the idea)

these are Adey's...couldn't find the right one for Paisley...maybe I will continue to look and do this on her first birthday (it will still be a memory)

and to finish...photo bomber:

I can't believe...

That Adelynn will be 4 this summer and in less then a year will be starting kindergarten?  There is no amount of time that can prepare me for this day to come.  I am already a nervous wreck about her going to school, making friends, how cruel kids are now a days, her excelling and being challenged, being away from her for that period of time...am I a normal mom?  does every mom go through these feelings?  Anyway.  My little girl is so smart and has always loved to learn.  She wants to do homework every day and is always asking questions.  She (according to her pediatrician) says she is beyond average in "smarts" for her age level which makes me feel like I am doing a great job as a mommy.  I hope she continues to feel this way as she slowly approaches school and will carry this trait with her through life.  I know she will go far and I am so proud of her for her dedication and eagerness to learn!

love my lil' lefty

she tries so hard and i love putting her workbook pages in page protectors and using a dry erase marker...endless amounts of education

such concentration and sometimes she takes her tongue and sticks it out and moves back and forth as she works...i guess it helps (one day i will catch it on camera)

so beautiful!
