Green thumbs fun!

So this year we are growing some veggies- ghetto style.  But seriously we still just renting so we can't have anything permanent.  We are growing green onions, tomatoes, carrots, and squash.  We are excited to see what grows and continue with it in the years to come.  The girls had a great time playing in the "poop" filled dirt and of course getting to water the plants!

drilling a hole in the bottom by twisting a screw driver...we know ghetto tools rule!

blowing on their horns whilst eating cheese

dumping the poop

crushing it up

arms burried

playing with the water trying to be sprayed on to the newly potted plants

Adey's school project

So when Adey's class ends a unit they have a class party and use what they learned.  Well the end of March was Adey's last party and I really wanted to attend so Paisley was with Nana so I didn't have to drag her along.  I got to be a group leader of Adey's group and got to go to each station and do the project with them.  They made flags, aprons/hats, butter, a basket and snacks, and they rolled hoola hoops and did a sack race.  It was all about colonial times and it was a lot of fun!

Snow...in April?!

So...this year we had a crazy yet typical Utah spring...we got snow...in April.  It was nice yet breezy weather the days before and the days after and it was also Emery's first snow even though she didn't get to go out and play in it of course.  She did sit bundled up in my lap where is was warm while her older sisters spent some time making snow angels, snow balls,  snow fight, and snow men...these girls really would rather be outside then stuck inside and I am very grateful for their love of outside!  On a side note, this summer is gonna be awsome and we can't wait!

We used a carrot for the nose, grapes for the eyes and we couldn't get anything to stick for the mouth...but they both worked so hard and were so proud!  The snow didn't last long...it warmed up like usually and melted quickly (however it did last until the next day)

Spirit week

So Adey had a fun week of spirit week at school.  She missed the first day because we just had the baby a few days before and got home on a Sunday (the day before she went back to school...so we were all exhausted and out of routine for a few days so I thought it was better to take a day at home and just relax and get back on bed time type stuff...plus I missed my girls while I was in the hospital and just needed them).

Monday was wear your school house t shirt day (she would have worn her purple shirt because she is in the purple house for school)

Tuesday was wear your favorite color shirt day (Adey wore a light blue shirt because right now her favorite colors are red, white, and blue...or as she calls it American colors)

Wednesday was sports day (Adey wore her gymnastics t shirt)

Thursday was wear your hat to school day (Adey wore her pink cowgirl hat)

Friday was crazy hair and two different socks day

She is just such a cutie and really loves her school, her friends, her teachers and is doing so well!  I am so proud of you Adey bug!

fun with family

I just found these on my phone and thought I would make a small post about it.

The Friday before Easter we had an Easter egg hunt and Easter dinner over at Kimberly's house.  We had ham, rolls, grilled pineapple, potato salad, regular salad, water and it was just all so yummy.  It was Kimberly/Stephen/family, Tina/Robert/family, Me and the girls (Nate was at work).  I love getting together with family and the fun we all have!  For the egg hunt each kid had to bring 10 filled eggs or hard boiled eggs (kimberly's family made these awesome speckled hard boiled eggs using rice...I want to try this next year with the girls).  Stephen, Robert, and Makayla hid all the eggs then we had the little kids (1-2 year olds) go first then the 2 boys (Garrett and Charlie), then the 3 girls (Adey, Abby, Ari), and then Makayla had to finish and find what was left.  The kids had a great time and the adults got to visit/socialize.  Sure wish Nate could have been there...maybe next year.

An Award

So for the month of March, Adelynn was selected by her teacher (1 kid per a month per a class starting in September) for this award.  She was extremely excited and got an extra bead on her necklace that they have at school and she got a bag of popcorn.  I am so proud of her and all her hard work.  She loves Odyssey Charter School, her teacher, and her classmates.  She has made lots of new friends and has play dates with them and talks about how many friends she has and what they play at recess.  For a while they played some game of tag they made up that she had to wear her green earnings for so they couldn't ever tag her (oh the imaginations of a bunch of kindergartners).  I love volunteering in her classroom when I can (usually for holiday parties or the end of the topic party they have).  She works really hard on her school work and book reports and still has all outstanding grades.  There are some days she doesn't want to get up and get ready for school but those are so far and few between that she rarely ever misses (only so far because she was sick once or twice and then our vacation).  She works really hard to stay in the good colors/behaviors and hasn't gone below the blue which is the I had a good day.  She works hard to get dots on her different charts (cloud, tree, butterfly, pig, and I can't remember the others and then they get to pick a prize).  I am just so all around proud of her and how much she is loving and excelling in school.  Way to go babygirl!

chop it off

So Adey has been asking me for quite some time if she can get her hair cut (she also wants to color it and go to the spa and get her nails/toes done...such high maintence and a girly girl at that!  lol...)  So I knew this baby was coming soon and I wouldn't have the extra time, plus summer is coming up and it gets quite warm here in Utah, and lastly her hair gets so tangly and she hates having it brushed.  I took her to the salon and let her pick out what she wanted...she did a great job in choosing her hair style and she loves it!

Paisley kept saying she wanted her hair cut too...but I just love her baby curls and not ready for her to get hers cut...soon though (maybe for her 3rd birthday a hair cut, ears pierced, and nails done...that would be quite a fun girly girls day for us!)
