Viva Las Vegas...kid spring break style

It's spring break time and Adelynn is out of school for a whole week!  What did we decide to do this year (and probably not again for a while since we have came Vegas 3 times in the last year and a half, twice with kids and once without)...Las Vegas!  We used our time share for the last time and stayed at Cancun Las Vegas (Diamond Resorts Sampler package...they have been a bit of a nightmare this trip) and for the most part have had a wonderful relaxing trip.  I mean look at this pool?  Who wouldn't enjoy their days swimming or laying out in the sun or relaxing in the hot tub?!

So we arrived Friday night and this was the best view I could get.  The city lights up and you can see the lights from far away.  The girls had no idea where we were going except we were going on a long family vacation and we were gonna have fun.  They finally realized we were in Las Vegas as we were passing the "pyramid" aka the Luxor and then the "castle" aka the Excalabur.  That's when they finally realized which hotel we were going to and the pool and it was going to be a fun trip:

We went to bed as soon as we arrived and got checked in and got our things in our room...5116 (same building as last time and strip view...but first floor so a little harder to see.  We liked being higher up for the view but this time we have enjoyed the convenience of being so close to the ground for parking...seems to take a lot less time in the elevator).  When we woke the next day the girls got to see that Uncle Bruce and Aunt Laura and their cousins Mckenna and Caetlyn had arrived.  We spent most of Saturday at the pool and for dinner we took Nate to Raising Cane's...one of his favorite restaurants.

Check out her crazy hair...its from sunscreen so her head wouldn't burn

it was chilly but glorious

this little one was intimidated and didn't get in her first day

On Sunday we woke up to some beautiful sunshine and decided it was a great day to head on over to the Hoover Dam.

the car ride:

Our adventure:

and of course a lot of our vacation was spent relaxing down at the pool:

Then we did a little time at Caesars Palace and saw the "fall of Atlantis" and ate some gelato and threw pennies in the fountain and watched the amazingly large fish tank that has crab and bit fat fish and sting rays and enjoyed the beauty of the hotel:

The flamingos at the Flamingo hotel were pretty to see and FREE! and of course Nate spoiled the girls by letting them each get a little stuffed flamingo:

We walked by the Eiffel tower for Adey:

Went to Hash house a gogo for dinner...the food has generous proportions and this picture doesn't do justice and it was so yummy:

We had lazy relaxing mornings watching cartoons and snuggling in a king size bed:

And we celebrated Aunt Laura's and Emery's birthday with a yummy dinner and some cake and ice cream and a few gifts:

And we visited the Bellagio fountain and the flowers:

And we finally visited serendipity for a treat:

And found a cool hand to sit in:

And some city connect four which now I want a version for our backyard for the summer:

and a cute hershey kiss:

and some water to cool off in:

played at hershey world:

The statue of liberty:

Love this picture of the girls...this was a waterfall wall...so pretty!

And we ate raising canes...not once but TWICE  for Nate...he loves this place and I have to admit that it is pretty good especially the lemonade!

we cooked at our hotel quite a bit and I laughed at how big this box of cereal was in comparison to her...she is so itty bitty!

And because the weather our last two days was kind of chilly and crummy we laid around and were lazy and did spend one afternoon at Circus Circus playing games and watching the acts:

Overall...we had a great GREAT vacation as a family!  We relaxed, we walked, we swam, we ate yummy food, we played hard, and we saw lots!  I think its safe to say we will not be visiting Vegas for quite some time since this was our third in trip in 1.5 years...time for some where new?!
