I absolutely LOVE living so close to Adelynn's school that we can walk and although we don't do it all the time, we walk enough to pick her up that when we move during this next school year I am going to really miss it as will the two littles I am sure. (PS...thats a whole-nother story about my sadness of where Adey will be going to school which won't be the public school she is assigned to but the next one over we think will be the best fit for her and love for learning since she is on the waiting list for both charter schools closer to our home. Maybe when Paisley starts kindergarten she will get in right away? I do know it betters her chances once another sibling is enrolled...anyway this next school year will be quite interesting)
Anyways, so for first grade I was crazy enough to sign up as a room this school year not exactly knowing what I was getting myself into! Planning parties for the different holidays, helping with all the parent teacher conferences and sending food items and various other activities through out the year. While it was fun it was also a lot of hard work and I easily got my 40 volunteer hours in with no problem!
With that said, this last party we did it the day the kids had their field day which was in the morning so we partied in the afternoon. We themed it along with the olympics and had bingo and javalin straw toss, and balloon volleyball, and line/sand long jump, and ring toss and one other that I can't remember and it was so much fun! By far the most easiest activity to put together! Mrs. Lind gave them all bubbles and the school gave them all medals from the field day! It was such a great way to wrap up the school year (even though they did have one more lazy fun last day of school)
