For Christmas this past year, Adelynn got this cool how our body works science kit from Lakeshore that my parents gave her. We have done the snot and a few weeks ago she wanted to create how our food digests:
We used crushed up saltines and mixed them with water:
then we "ate" them and watched them travel down to our stomach
we made sure both ends were tied off and then added lemon juice and watched the food break down over two days
