just because its cold...that won't stop these girls

last week we bought the girls a pool.  If you know us we spend our summers mostly outside either in our backyard or out in nature (camping, hiking, splash pads, etc...).  We love the sunshine and being not cooped up inside!  Anyway, so of course as soon as we got home the girls begged for me to blow it up and play in it.  The weather lately has been so cloudy and rainy, but this day wasn't too bad.  It hasn't been cold nor hot...just enjoyable.  So like a great mom i blew up the pool and put just a little water in it (I knew they wouldn't be out there long)

Then the next day we sure did this:

Tumble, point toes, straight legs...

So back in February Paisley started gymnastics.  Each class she shows how much she is improving and getting stronger.  I am so glad she is loving it!  Also her teacher Heather...she just adores!  At the beginning she always wanted mom to help...then it was ok for Heather to help...now it is always I want to do it by myself (at the end of next month she moves up from the mommy and me class to the preschool class because of her age.  then after that for her to move up it all depends on her performance)

A little Sunday Funday

I love Sundays for many reason but one that is probably the most is getting to be with my family without work, school, normal everyday life getting the way.  Here is how we spent this particular Sunday about a week and half ago:

Date night

Lets face it, getting away on a date wasn't that hard with 1 kid, then 2 kids it got a little trickier and then you add another so 3 kids you want to get a break from and go spend some one on one time with the love of your life (honestly...it is a little harder for us but we did bring Emery along with us).  This night we ended up going out with Nate's brother Robert and his wife Tina.  We always have so much fun with these guys.  We have been talking for a while about going to their favorite Indian restaurant (last time Nate had Indian with him he threw it all up so they wanted him for so long to try it again).  It was such a fun night of laughs, good company, and yummy food!  Can't wait to do it again!

Lady Liberty

Adey had her first presentation of school years (in kindergarten...yes KINDERGARTEN).  They had to chose an American symbol and Adey just adores the statue of liberty (she was so excited when she got to see on in Las Vegas).  We researched it on the internet, watched you tube video's, and she decorated her poster by using red and blue paint and straws to make fireworks added with glitter, found pictures she wanted to include, and typed all the words she glued onto her poster.  It all turned out well (she practiced it in front of us many times and was more than ready to present it to her class...it was around 2 minutes long)

She did a great job and got a 40/40...way to go Adelynn

Emery 1 month

You are just perfect in every way!

Emery Kate Mihu
1 month May 10, 2015
6lbs 11 ounces
20 inches long

Favorites: pacifier, being swaddled, your hands (only when they go in your mouth and not scratch your face), nursing, your family even your sisters (although they are constantly in your face), being held or snuggled, getting kisses, bath time before you have to get out into the cold air, you don't seem to mind tummy time either

Sleeping: you sleep all the time (you would rather sleep than eat), at night you sleep 6 to 7 hours going to bed between 10 and 11/wake up to eat/and go right back to sleep until about 8 in the morning/wake up to eat/back to sleep (you are my dream baby...thank you so much for allowing mommy and daddy to their beauty sleep)

Eating: at first mommy had to pump because you weren't figuring out this whole nursing thing and by the end of your first month of life you have decided that bottles are for amateurs and would rather nurse (about 7 to 9 times a day or every 3 to 4 hours...it really depends on the day)

Don't like: getting out of the bath, not being held, scratching your face, getting dressed (you don't seem to mind having your diaper changed and you hardly ever cry too when you are wet/poopy), your sisters in your face, laying on the hard ground

Your personality: calm, laid back, easy going, simple, not dramatic

You wear: newborn clothes, headbands with a knot tied in them so they fit, and newborn diapers (you are just a whittle thing), newborn shoes don't even fit...way too big.  You have such tiny skinny feet and you are finally starting to get a little meat on your bones

Emery's baby blessing

On mother's day this year, May 10, 2015 (also her one month mark), Nate gave Emery a name (in our church) and a blessing- Emery Kate Mihu.

(I ordered her bow and dress from an Etsy shop)

He was quite nervous and intends to give her a father's blessing in our home (he felt there was more bless and pray for her) but it was still beautiful.  He had his dad, his brother Robert, his brother in law Stephen, his cousin Jared, his friends Mitch and David, and Bishop Mott all stand in the circle (we wanted many others but then the circle would have taken up the whole chapel).  She was blessed with love and strength which she is definitely given minute upon minute in our home and if you ever meet her you can tell there is just something extremely special about her because she is so sweet and calm and peaceful...her beauty and her eyes tell it all.  Following the blessing (after sacrament) we had a little brunch to celebrate her birth.  It was extremely cold and just rained a ton the days leading up to the special day (but thanks to all our supportive family and friends, they still came to celebrate with us and feel truly blessed).  Emery is such an amazing baby (great sleeper, great eater, hardly ever cries, very beautiful and tiny, and loved by all who meet her)

All that attended were: us of course, Tina and 4 of her kids (Robert and Ari were sick), Charlie (from Kimberly and Stephen they had to get back to church and the girls went to nursery), My mom, my friend, Jessica, Nate's parents, Debbie and David, Clarissa and her 4 kids, Julia/Jared (baby David in the belly), Grandma/Grandpa Astle, Mitch/Brianna, Eric/Brittany and their boys (baby Chloe in the belly), Pam/David/Aaron Pappas, Maren/Jeff and their 3 kids, LouAnn/Ivan Hoffman, Wayne/Elaina, and Ross/Tatiana and their 4 kids.  Thanks to all who attended and made this day so special for us and for Emery to look back upon and see how much she was loved.

Teacher Appreciation

I feel way to often, teachers in general are under appreciated!  They work so hard outside of school, they are taking care of my precious Adelynn, and they have to put up with everyone elses kids...for little pay!  I could go on forever my feelings about this subject.  But on a lighter note...for teacher appreciation at Adey's school, I found out her teachers favorite colors and got them in the balloons with a thanks balloon, we got their last initial in a wood letter for them to decorate, and 2 gifts cards (one to culvers for some dessert and one to barnes and noble so they could get themselves a book for the summer...hopefully and not spend it on their classroom).  I hope they know how much Adey loves them and how much I appreciate all they have taught Adey in her first year in school.  They have most certainly earned a generous appreciation gift from our family!

Thank you so much Ms. Shaw and Ms. Wilkinson
