Family Night learning about friends

So once a week (for 3 weeks for our family which is a big deal with how busy we have been lately)  usually on Monday night shortly after dinner, we have a short lesson about teaching us to be nicer, kinder, helpful, loving, etc...you get the picture (ways to better our lives).  Following we have a treat and do something as a family like get ice cream or icee's, or go to the park, or swimming, just something fun as a family with out the interruptions of our phones or the outside world or our busy lives.  This is designated family time.

Well this past Monday we learned about friendships and what it means to be a good friend.  We then headed on a walk to the park because Adey had recently taught herself how to swing on the swing with out needing help (we had smoothies in the freezer getting chilled for when we got back).  Just as we started out passing our neighbors 2 houses down is the Sager's (the girls loving playing with the daughter grace and ethan and grace has even baby sat for us and the sweet girl sent me a text while baby sitting asking if there was anything she could do for me including my dishes and when i got home and went to pay her she at first didn't want the money she said she was just doing a service but in the end i got her to take the money...i was only gone like 2 hours but i had a few errands to take care of and really just wanted to go alone with the company of baby emery and my cousin Julia to tag along).  Anyway...they were outside weeding in the front yard and we stopped and offered to help.  It was a great opportunity for us to serve and help our neighbor friends (even though Nate wasn't feeling the greatest and we were quite tired).  It felt good to help even if it was only for like 15 minutes.

Then we headed on to the park where Adey could show us her swinging abilities and we had a great time and came home and gulped up our yummy, cold smoothies...followed by baths/showers/and the glorious bed time.
