Temple Square...keepin' busy with the littles
so being a stay at home mom is extremely different from the working mom I used to once be (almost a year ago...but I am beyond grateful and feel very blessed to finally be able to stay home and take care of my kids and do what i am called to do. I LOVE my job as a mommy). I am now having to come up with things to do during the day to keep busy, especially with summer vacation (7 peaks, parks, pool, hanging with family, going to Idaho, the beach/pond, museums, etc....) Well one day we decided to head up to Salt Lake City and walk around temple square with my sister in law, Tina, and some of her kids and her host brother Budi (sp? from Ecuador). I love how you feel walking around the Temple grounds. I saw this sign that talked about helping out when you can and learned a little more about the church welfare and all the service they offer (one of my new personal goals is to serve and be more loving towards others...we all are brothers and sisters and can lend a helping hand from time to time and not be so lazy amongst ourselves. We are all in this together so be a friend and help a neighbor or get to know someone new...everyone needs a friend, someone they can call on in a time of need, especially amongst these crazy days and all the hatred in the world. Be different and show your love. I could go on and on with the feelings I felt while walking on the Temple Square grounds. It was truly amazing!) Anyway, little did we know when we were up in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, we saw Elder Packer's funeral was going on in the tabernacle. So for a short time (while we toured the memorial building and ate lunch and played around in the family search center) most of temple square was shut down. We had a great time and thought we were gonna be rained out but were not. So glad we got to go and have this experience!
